That was awesome - incredible cinematography and sound design. can't wait to see the rest of the season...

This episode actually embraces cinema and every aspect of it tells a story. It's what true independent film is all about. It's hard to find that these days. A job well done.

PTA... MCJ ... both have three letter nick names... both directors... both men... both wear tee shirts some of the time... PTA drinks red bull... MCJ to be sponsored by Red Bull... coincidence?... Maybe...

Seriously though just give him the trophy now.
I don't need to hear what Indiana and North Carolina have to say.
Great film.

I loved this short! Never boring, visually striking, subtle acting...
Im so surprised that's even possible on a web series. Great job, would love to see more.

Congrats to all involved in this awesome video- acting, directing, editing- all top notch; makes thinking about riding the metro a tad eerie!

Sigh. Nothing new here.

Seriously, if you want to do a vampire origin story, you need something more than teenage angst to weight it. Who is she? You need something more creative than the tried & true post-rape shower scene.

That said, it was well shot and edited, and decently acted for what it was. As with most of the other entries, I don't care about her or what happens to her, which means the short has no future as a series.

I couldnt disagree more with that last comment.. i think the main difference with every other finalist which i do like some of the other submissions, is that this episode introduces a character and a situation that can definitely be developed as an episodic concept, it can be developed in so many interesting ways... and with each episode we could learn so much about her, her victim choices, her innner thoughts.
I agree that we dont know who she is yet, but that's the point, we will know who she is by the end of i dont know, 5 episodes? 8 episodes? how ever many they make...
And in terms of the shower scene, i think when a director picks a genre like horror, or a western or anything like that, there are scenes that you must pay homage to, it isnt just about telling a story but it is also about linking that story to the greater scheme of things. If anything, that scene made me realize that this director wasnt born in a bubble but that he has studied the genre and he is playing with it to his advantage. There is plenty of originality in this short to just dismiss the shower scene as "seen and done" and not realize how much filmmaking history that small idea adds.

also, did you listen to the sound design on this short? I could watch this episode again and again just to listen to the sounds... ir makes it all so much richer, it's a full experience... the visuals are beautiful..the sound is so rich... im pretty impressed with how much the achieved in a 6 minute story... feels epic compared to the rest of the smaller scenes on this competition.

my two cents.

sound design is super awesome! looks pretty too. would've liked to see a little more emotion expressed though, but nice job.

great cinematic quality and i loved your smart use of the Geisha House wall...i also appreciate that your team took into consideration that this was a contest for a series...thank you for giving me an insight into what's to come if you take the prize...
